Police said there were two robberies that both involved a man with a gun.
All five robberies happened just off 63rd Street between Ingleside and Woodlawn avenues.
A woman was walking near Harrison and Racine when a man pointed a gun at her and robbed her.
The man tried to take the student' cellphone at gunpoint near 58th and Dorchester, police said.
In one of the incidents, a 61-year-old woman was in a driveway when a robber approached, police said.
The robbery happened Aug. 21 in the 2100 block of North Lincoln Avenue, police said.
"It was 10 days before any arrests were made. But these are significant arrests," Cmdr. Cesario said.
The offender implied he had a gun and stole the victim's cell phone and wallet Friday afternoon.
The staffer was robbed while walking near 56th and Kimbark at 4:15 p.m., U. of C. police said.
The incident happened at 12:20 a.m., according to the university's public safety office.
No one has been arrested in connection with the Edison Park robbery, police said.
Two or three men approached the victims while they were using the Near West Side ATM, police said.
U. of C. Police said they believe the boys are behind at least three armed robberies since Saturday.
One of the three had a handgun, according to university police.
The man robbed a woman inside her garage in the 2000 block of North Kenmore Avenue, police said.
