UNIVERSITY VILLAGE — An armed robbery was reported on the UIC campus early Monday morning.

About 4:45 a.m. Monday, UIC Police received a report of an armed robbery near West Harrison Street and South Racine Avenue. A woman, who is not affiliated with UIC, was walking when she was approached by a man who pointed a gun at her and demanded her property, police said.

The victim complied and was not injured, according to UIC Police. After the robbery, the man got into the passenger side of a nearby car and drove off, police said.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Chicago Police at 311. The Chicago Police Department will lead the investigation.
