Armed Robbery Reported On UIC Campus: Police

UNIVERSITY VILLAGE — A woman says she was the victim of armed robbery on the UIC campus Friday. 

At about 1:16 p.m. Friday, UIC Police received a report of an armed robbery that occurred in the 900 block of West 14th Place.

The woman, who is not a UIC student or employee, was walking when she was approached by a man who implied that he had a gun and demanded her property. The victim gave the offender her cell phone and wallet and he fled northbound on Morgan Street. 

The victim was not injured in the incident. 

The suspect is described as a black man, about 18 years old, 6-foot, wearing a light grey hooded sweatshirt and khaki pants. 

The Chicago Police Department is leading the investigation with help from the UIC Police/CPD Joint Robbery Task Force. Anyone with information ins asked to call CPD at 311.
