Shootings Kill 6 People, Wound 19 Since Friday, Police Say

CHICAGO — Shootings have left six people dead and 19 wounded since Friday, police said.

• At 1:23 a.m. Saturday, a 14-year-old boy was shot to death in Austin while standing outside.

• At 12:04 a.m., a 25-year-old man was shot and killed in Auburn Gresham.

• At 11:59 p.m. Friday, a shooting in South Shore killed a 30-year-old man.

• At 10:20 p.m., a man and woman were fatally shot in Back of the Yards.

• At 9 p.m., a 38-year-old man was killed when he was shot in Austin.

In non-fatal shootings:

• At 4:43 a.m. Saturday, a 36-year-old man was shot in Austin, police said. The man was standing on the sidewalk in the 5000 block of West Concord Place when a man in a silver SUV fired shots at him.

The man was hit in his right leg and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.

The man was a documented gang member, police sources said.

• At 3:52 a.m., a man was shot in Little Village.

• At 2:45 a.m., three men were shot in Lakeview.

• At 2 a.m., a 30-year-old man was shot in West Englewood.

• Also at 2 a.m., a 38-year-old man was shot in North Lawndale, police said. The man was walking on the sidewalk in the 4100 block of West 19th Street when he heard shots and felt pain.

The man was hit in his chest and he took himself to Mount Sinai Hospital. His condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• At 11:25 p.m. Friday, a 29-year-old man was shot in Brighton Park.

• At 10:50 p.m., a 23-year-old man was shot in North Lawndale, police said. the man was standing on the sidewalk in the 1200 block of South Avers Avenue when he heard shots and felt pain.

The man was hit in his head and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.

The man was a documented gang member, police sources said.

• At 10:14 p.m., a 19-year-old man was shot while getting into a car in Brighton Park.

• At 7:10 p.m., a 28-year-old man was shot in West Humboldt Park. Police did not think he was the intended target.

• At 6:25 p.m., a 16-year-old boy was shot in Washington Park, Pacheco said. The boy was walking in the 100 block of East 56th Street when he heard shots and felt pain.

The boy was hit in his back, legs and pelvis and was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, Pacheco said.

The boy was a documented gang member, police sources said, and was uncooperative.

• At 4:45 p.m., a 19-year-old man was shot in Woodlawn.

• At 2:15 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot in Washington Heights.

• At 12:15 p.m., a 23-year-old man was shot and wounded in Roseland.

• At 11:50 a.m., a person was shot while driving on the Eisenhower Expressway near Harlem Avenue.

• At 11:47 a.m., a 19-year-old man was shot in Belmont Cragin.

• At 11:30 a.m., a 29-year-old man was shot in West Englewood.

• At 10:25 a.m., a man was shot in Garfield Park, Pacheco said. Officers found the man in the 3400 block of West Lexington Street.

The man had been shot in his head and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, Pacheco said.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
