The two shootings occured in Homan Square and Gresham overnight.
He was listed in good condition at Mount Sinai Hospital.
The woman is in good condition at Stroger Hospital, police said.

"The gun used to shoot a police captain was legally purchased in Indiana," McCarthy said.
Lorenzo Jones, 25, of the 7500 block of South Luella Avenue, is due to appear in court Friday.
Three men were shot at a house party in Greater Grand Crossing. Earlier, a man was shot in West Pullman.
The woman was in a car when she was shot in the back, police said.
The man was shot in the buttocks and leg, police said.
