CHICAGO — At least five people were shot Wednesday, including two wounded in separate shootings in Gresham.

Around 9:15 p.m., a man was shot in his hand and grazed in his leg while standing in the 8700 block of South Eggleston Avenue, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was taken to St. Bernard's Hospital in good condition. No one is in custody for the shooting and more information was not available, Pacheco said.

About eight hours earlier, a 19-year-old man was shot as he sat in the passenger seat of a car in the 7400 block of South Sangamon Street. The man was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition. He was shot in his ankle during the 1:30 p.m. shooting, Pacheco said.

No one is in custody for the shooting, which appears to be gang-related, Pacheco said.

In the most recent shooting, two people were wounded while sitting in a car in the 1900 block of South St. Louis Avenue in North Lawndale around 10:25 p.m., Pacheco said.

Both men were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in stable condition. The 25-year-old man was struck in his lower back and thigh, while the 24-year-old man was struck in his buttocks.

Around 7:05 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot in the chest during a possible drive-by in the 5100 block of South Rockwell Street in Gage Park. The man was taken to Mount Sinai for treatment, but his condition was unknown, Pacheco said.
