CHICAGO — A man was killed and a 16-year-old boy was injured in a Gresham shooting late Friday.

Around 10:50 p.m. Friday, the man, 20, and the boy were standing on a corner in the 8800 block of South Carpenter Street when someone came up to them and began spraying bullets, according to Officer Hector Alfaro, a Chicago police spokesman.

The 20-year-old man suffered from gunshot wounds in his back and his buttocks, Alfaro said.

He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead, Alfaro said. He was identified as Roddy Comer, of the 7100 block of South Maplewood Avenue.

The boy is in "stable" condition after being taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital with a gunshot wound in his lower left arm, Alfaro said.
