CHICAGO — Four people were killed and another 28 were wounded — including an off-duty police officer — in shootings across the city between Friday and early Monday, police said.

A 7-year-old boy accidentally killed himself with a gun in Englewood Sunday afternoon, police said.

Earlier, police said, a man was killed and another was critically wounded in a shooting in Albany Park.

An off-duty officer was shot in his leg after exchanging gunfire with two robbers on the Far South Side early Monday morning, police said.

About 25 minutes later, a 17-year-old was shot in her lower back in Rogers Park, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

Most recently, Pacheco said, a man and a woman were shot within about a mile of each other in Humboldt Park.

A 13-year-old girl was in good condition after being grazed by a stray bullet in North Lawndale Sunday afternoon, Pacheco said.

A 23-year-old man was hurt in a drive-by shooting in Auburn Gresham Sunday, Pacheco said.

Around 11 p.m. Sunday, Pacheco said, a 25-year-old man was standing in an alley in the 200 block of South Cicero Avenue in Austin when a man jumped out of a nearby dark minivan and tried to rob him at gunpoint.

When the man ran away the robber shot at him, grazing his right wrist, Pacheco said.

The man was brought to West Suburban Hospital, Pacheco said. Police did not provide his condition but said he was "stable."

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

No one is in custody, Pacheco said.

Ten people were hurt, including one man shot by an off-duty officer, between Saturday morning and Sunday morning, police said.

Before that, police said, another two people were killed and 11 wounded in shootings from Friday into Saturday.
