AUBURN GRESHAM — A 23-year-old man was hurt in a drive-by shooting on the South Side Sunday night, police said.

Around 9 p.m., the man was standing in the 8800 block of South Hermitage Avenue when someone shot at him from a passing white car, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center with a gunshot wound in his left side, Pacheco said. Police did not provide his condition but said he was "stable."

No one is in custody, Pacheco said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.
