32 Shot, Including 8 Killed, Since Saturday Afternoon, Police Say

CHICAGO — Shootings throughout Chicago have killed 8 people and wounded 24 others since Saturday afternoon, according to police.

One man was killed and another was wounded in an Old Town shooting early Sunday, police said.

Two people were shot — one fatally — in a Near West Side shooting early Sunday, police said.

A 24-year-old woman was killed in a South Deering shooting early Sunday, police said.

A man was killed in Chatham around 1 a.m. Sunday, according to police.

A Humboldt Park shooting killed a 31-year-old man, police said.

A 19-year-old man was killed in a robbery in Archer Heights Saturday night, police said.

A 28-year-old man was killed in Auburn Gresham Saturday evening, police said.

In West Garfield Park Saturday afternoon, a 17-year-old was shot and killed, police said.

In non-fatal shootings:

• At 4:20 a.m. Sunday, a 33-year-old man was shot in Roseland, police said.

He was in the 11100 block of South State Street when he was grazed in his neck, police said. He refused medical treatment at the scene.

• At 3:35 a.m., a 32-year-old man was wounded in a South Shore shooting, according to media reports.

The man was outside in the 1700 block of East 69th Street when he was shot in hi abdomen and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition was not released but police were considering him to be stable.

• At 3 a.m., three people were shot in West Pullman, police said.

The men were leaving a party in the 12300 block of South Emerald Avenue when someone began firing, police said.

A 39-year-old man was shot in his side and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, police said. A 32-year-old man was shot in his right leg and was taken to Metro South Medical Center in "stable" condition, police said. A 31-year-old man was shot in his right leg and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in fair condition, police said.

• At 2:40 a.m., two people were shot in Heart of Chicago, police said.

The men were driving in the 2100 block of South Oakley Avenue when shots rang out, police said. A 22-year-old man was shot in his shoulder and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition. A 20-year-old man was shot in his arm and was taken to Mount Sinai in good condition, police said.

• At 2:20 a.m., a 19-year-old man was shot in Auburn Gresham, police said.

The man was standing on the corner in the 8600 block of South Morgan Street when someone in a black car fired shots, police said. He was hit in his arm and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in good condition, police said.

• At 12:45 a.m., two people were shot in an Ashburn attack, police said.

The two men were in a car in the 7800 block of South Christiana Avenue when someone got out of another car and shot at them, police said. A 25-year-old man was shot in his buttocks and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in good condition, police said. A 22-year-old man was grazed in his hand and refused medical treatment.

• At 11:15 p.m. Saturday, a 22-year-old man was shot in South Shore, police said.

The man was in the 7100 block of South Yates Boulevard when he was shot in his abdomen and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition was not released but police considered him to be stable.

• At 10:50 p.m., a 24-year-old man was shot in Auburn Gresham, police said.

The man was asleep at a house party in the 8400 block of South Parnell Avenue when someone at the party began firing a gun, police said. He was shot in his leg and managed to get himself to Jackson Park Hospital, where his condition was not released but police considered him to be stable. He was not the intended target, police said.

• At 9:30 p.m., a 20-year-old man was shot in South Chicago, police said.

The man was in the 8600 block of South Yates Boulevard when he was shot in his right arm and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition was not released but police considered him to be stable.

Two women were shot in an Auburn Gresham restaurant, police said.

• At 8:29 p.m., a man was shot in North Lawndale, police said.

The man was in the 1800 block of South Karlov Avenue when he was shot in the leg, police said. No further information was available.

• At 7:23 p.m., a 36-year-old man was shot in Englewood, police said.

The man was outside in the 1100 block of West 57th Street when a dark car drove by and someone inside began firing, police said. He was struck in his chest, arms and hip and was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.

• At 6:15 p.m., a 25-year-old man was shot in Uptown, police said.

He was in the 4500 block of North Sheridan Road when he was grazed in his arm and was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where his condition was not released but police considered him to be stable.

• At 5:21 p.m., a 33-year-old was critically wounded in a Grand Boulevard shooting, police said.

The man was in the 4400 block of South Prairie Avenue when he was shot in the head and was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.

• At 3:40 p.m., an 18-year-old man was shot in North Lawndale, police said.

He was in the 3400 block of West Douglas Boulevard when he was shot in his leg and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, police said.

• At 12:30, a 24-year-old woman was shot in North Lawndale, police said.

She was in the 1200 block of South Independence Boulevard when two people drove up in a silver car and a man in the passenger seat began firing, police said. The woman was shot in her torso and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, police said. She is a documented gang member and the shooting may have been drug-related, police said.

• At 12:10 p.m., a 19-year-old man was shot in East Garfield Park, police said.

The man was in the 3900 block of West Jackson Boulevard when someone got out of a red car and began firing, police said. He was struck in his buttocks and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition.
