Near West Side Shooting Kills Raqkown Ricks, Wounds Another, Police Say

CHICAGO — A 19-year-old man was killed and another man wounded in a Near West Side shooting early Sunday, according to police.

The men were in the 2200 block of West Jackson Boulevard at 2:59 a.m. when shots rang out, police said.

One of the men was fatally shot and pronounced dead at the scene, police said. He has been identified as Raqkown Ricks, of the 100 block of South Sawyer Avenue, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

The other man was shot in his leg, police said. They did not say if he was taken to a hospital.
