
CHICAGO — A 16-year-old was gunned down in West Garfield Park shooting Saturday afternoon, according to police.
He was outside in the 200 block of South Kostner Avenue at 4:50 p.m. when shots rang out, said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a Chicago Police spokesman.
The teen was struck in his back and leg and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition before he died, according to police.
He has been identified as Deandre Banks, of the 5400 block of West Ohio Street, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
No arrests have been made.
