CHICAGO — Shootings have left one person dead and 11 wounded since Thursday afternoon, police said.
A 35-year-old man was shot to death while outside in Garfield Park, police said.
In non-fatal shootings:
• Most recently, at 2:55 a.m. Friday, a man was shot in Humboldt Park.
• At 1:30 a.m., an 18-year-old man was shot while standing on the sidewalk in West Town.
• At 12:40 a.m., a man and woman were shot during an attempted robbery in West Humboldt Park.
• At 11:13 p.m. Thursday, two men were shot while sitting outside on a porch in West Town.
• At 10:50 p.m., a 23-year-old woman was shot while standing on a front porch in Woodlawn.
• At 8 p.m., an 18-year-old man was wounded in a shooting in Austin, said Officer Laura Amezaga, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The man was in a parked car in the 5600 block of West Fulton Street when someone walked up, fired shots and ran away.
The man was hit in his right shoulder. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was not released but he was listed as "stable," Amezaga said.
• At 7:42 p.m., a 19-year-old man was shot in Grand Crossing, Amezaga said. The man was in the 7300 block of South Blackstone Avenue when someone shot him in his buttocks.
The man was brought to Northwestern Hospital. His condition was not released but he was listed as "stable," Amezaga said.
The man was not cooperative with officers, police said, and was a documented gang member.
• At 4:15 p.m., a 31-year-old man was shot in Washington Heights, Amezaga said. The man was standing near the corner in the 10200 block of South Halsted Street when he heard shots and felt pain.
The man had been shot in his right leg. He took himself to Roseland Community Hospital.
• At 2:50 p.m., a 22-year-old woman was shot while standing in a group of people in front of an Englewood home.
No one was in custody in these shootings.
