Humboldt Park Shootings Wound 3 People, Police Say

CHICAGO — Shootings in Humboldt Park left three people wounded early Friday, police said.

• Most recently, at 2:55 a.m., a man walked into Loretto Hospital after being shot, said Officer Laura Amezaga, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The man said he was at Augusta Boulevard and Drake Avenue when he was shot in his right hand.

No further details were available.

• At 12:40 a.m., a 40-year-old woman and 33-year-old man were shot when gunmen tried to rob them, Amezaga said. The two were walking down the street in the 1100 block of North Pulaski Road when a dark van pulled up and two men with guns got out and tried to rob the victims.

The man and woman ran away and the robbers shot at them, Amezaga said. The man was hit in his back and side and was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition. The woman was hit in her buttocks and her arm was grazed. She was in good condition at Stroger Hospital.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
