West Town Shootings Wound 3 People, Police Say

CHICAGO — Three people have been wounded in West Town shootings since Thursday, police said.

• At 1:30 a.m. Friday, an 18-year-old man was standing on a sidewalk in the 1200 block of West Erie Street when someone in a red sedan fired shots at him, said Officer Laura Amezaga, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was hit in his right knee and was taken to Northwestern Hospital. His condition was not released but he was listed as "stable," Amezaga said.

• At 11:13 p.m. Thursday, a 40-year-old man and 51-year-old man were sitting on a porch in the 700 block of North Ada Street when a group of men pulled up in a car and fired shots at them, Amezaga said.

The 51-year-old man was hit in his face and the 40-year-old man was hit multiple times throughout his body. They were taken to Stroger Hospital, where their conditions were not released but they were listed as "stable," Amezaga said.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
