4 People Killed, 13 Injured in Shootings Since Friday, Police Say

CHICAGO — Four people were killed and 13 wounded in shootings between Friday and Saturday, police said.

Most recently, a 22-year-old man was shot to death while walking in Irving Park early Saturday, police said.

A 24-year-old man was killed when someone shot him in his head late Friday in North Lawndale, police said.

In Austin, a 20-year-old man was shot multiple times and killed while sitting in a car, police said.

Early Friday, a 26-year-old man was shot to death while sitting in a parked car in West Englewood, police said.

In non-fatal shootings:

• At 6:55 a.m. Saturday, an 18-year-old man was shot in Rogers Park, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

• At 3:35 a.m., a 17-year-old was shot in Little Village, Sedevic said. The teen was standing on the sidewalk in the 2400 block of South Spaulding Avenue when someone in a dark-colored sedan fired shots at him.

The teen was hit in his left knee and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was in "stable" condition, Sedevic said.

The teen is a documented gang member, police said.

• At 12:10 a.m., a 21-year-old man was shot while driving in Humboldt Park, Sedevic said

• At 11:15 p.m. Friday, a 21-year-old man was shot in Englewood, Sedevic said. The man was standing on a porch in the 5600 block of South May Street when someone fired at him from the street.

The man was hit in his leg and groin and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was in "stable" condition, Sedevic said.

The man is a documented gang member, police said.

• At 10:30 p.m., an 18-year-old man was shot in Greater Grand Crossing, Sedevic said. The man was walking on the sidewalk of the 7100 block of South King Drive when a man in a gray sedan fired shots at him.

The man was hit in his right thigh. He was at Holy Cross Hospital before being transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital in "stable" condition, Sedevic said.

• At 8:59 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot while walking on the Near North Side, Sedevic said.

• At 7:47 p.m., two people were shot in Brighton Park, Sedevic said. Two 17-year-olds were walking in the 4200 block of South Archer Avenue when a light-colored SUV pulled up and someone inside fired shots.

One of the teens was hit in his left shoulder and left leg. The other victim was shot in his left leg. Both were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and were in "stable" condition, Sedevic said.

The second teenager is a documented gang member, police said.

• At 6:18 p.m., a 37-year-old man was shot in South Chicago, Sedevic said. The man was walking down the street in the 8200 block of South Euclid Avenue when someone in a car fired shots at him.

The man was hit in his hip and took himself to Advocate Trinity Hospital. He was in "stable" condition, Sedevic said.

• At 5:09 p.m., a 19-year-old man was shot in Auburn Gresham, Sedevic said. The man was outside in the 8800 block of South Wood Street when someone in a passing black car fired shots at him.

The man was hit in his buttocks and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center. He was in "stable" condition, Sedevic said.

• At 2:20 p.m., a woman was shot and wounded during a domestic incident in Chicago Lawn, Sedevic said. A man shot himself fatally and a woman was shot in her head. A 1-year-old girl was taken to a hospital in good condition.

• At 2:08 p.m., a 17-year-old was shot in Uptown, Sedevic said. The teen was in the 4600 block of North Magnolia Avenue when he was shot in his leg.

• At 11:45 a.m., a 24-year-old woman was shot during an attempted robbery in West Humboldt Park, Sedevic said. The woman was driving a car when two men got in, tried to rob her and shot her.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
