CHICAGO — A 24-year-old man was shot and killed in North Lawndale on Friday night, police said.
At 8:10 p.m., the man was in the 3800 block of West Flournoy Street when someone walked up to him and shot at him multiple times, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The man was hit in his head.
The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, Sedevic said.
William Smith, of the 900 block of North Springfield Avenue, was pronounced dead at 9:46 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
No one was in custody.
