CHICAGO — A 26-year-old man was shot to death while sitting in a car in West Englewood on Friday, police said.

At 9:20 a.m., the man was sitting in a parked car in the 7300 block of South Paulina Street when a black sedan pulled up and people inside it opened fire on the man, hitting him multiple times in the torso, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

Orlando Porter, of the 7200 block of South Wood Street, died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

No one was in custody.

The man was a documented gang member, police said, and the incident appears to be gang-related.
