3-year-old Among 10 Wounded Overnight

CHICAGO — Ten people were wounded overnight including a 3-year-boy shot in the head in his West Garfield Park home.

The boy was playing with a friend in his home in the 4300 block of West Monroe Street when he was shot around 7:30 p.m., police said.

The most recent shooting occurred around 6:46 a.m. in Little Village.

Around 5:45 a.m. Saturday, an 18-year-old man was shot in his temple in the 10700 block of South Hoxie Street in South Deering. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago police spokeswoman.

No one is in custody for the shooting and the man is gang affiliated, Pacheco said.

Two hours earlier, two people were shot in Jeffrey Manor in separate shootings fifteen minutes apart.

Around 3:30 a.m. Saturday, a 22-year-old man was shot multiple times in the 9900 block of South Torrence Avenue. He went to Trinity Hospital with gunshot wounds to his groin and both legs. He was transferred to Christ Hospital, where his condition stabilized, said Pacheco.

The man, who is gang-affiliated, was uncooperative with police and more details were unavailable, Pacheco said.

About 15 minutes earlier, a 26-year-old was shot while standing outside in the 9800 block of South Yates Avenue. He was taken to Trinity Hospital in good condition after being struck in his calf. The man was also uncooperative with police and no one is in custody for the shooting, which occurred at 3:17 a.m. The incident appears to be gang-related, Pacheco said.

Around 1:23 a.m. Saturday, a man was shot in a parking lot in Near West Side.

Just after midnight, a man was shot in his face while driving on Lake Shore Drive.

Two people were shot in West Pullman around 9:05 p.m. Friday. The two were standing in the 12300 block of South Emerald Drive when two men walked up to them and opend fire, said Pacheco.

Both men were taken to Christ in stable condition. A 20-year-old man was shot in his stomach and a 24-year-old man was shot in his shoulder, Pacheco said.

Around 10:30 p.m., a 34-year-old man was shot in the 6400 block of South Rockwell Street in Chicago Lawn. The man was taken to Christ in stable condition after being shot in his right leg. No one is in custody for the shooting, Pacheco said.
