
CHICAGO — Seven people were killed and at least 32 people were wounded in shootings throughout Chicago this weekend, police said.
Between Sunday morning and Monday morning, 16-year-old David Moreno was killed in Little Village and seven people were wounded in shootings, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.
An 18-year-old man was also fatally shot in South Chicago Sunday morning.
In the most recent non-fatal shooting, a 21-year-old man was shot in the 4700 South Drexel Boulevard in Bronzeville around 3 a.m. After being shot in his abdomen, he drove himself to Mercy Hospital then was transferred to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, Estrada said.
Early Monday, a 19-year-old man was shot on the Far South Side in Morgan Park.
About 2:30 p.m. Sunday, a 32-year-old man was shot in his left leg in the 700 block of West 48th Street, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital.
No one is in custody for the shootings.
From Saturday morning to Sunday morning, four people were killed and 20 were wounded in shootings. Two men were killed and a woman was hurt in a shooting in Humboldt Park, an 18-year-old man was gunned down in South Chicago and two 21-year-old men were shot, one fatally, in Greater Grand Crossing.
From Friday morning to Saturday, two people were killed and five others were wounded in citywide gun violence. A 32-year-old man was shot to death while walking in Austin and a 17-year-old boy was killed in a drive-by shooting in North Lawndale.
