LOGAN SQUARE — The former SFR, an eatery-turned-bar on a hot stretch of Armitage Avenue, will soon see new life, city permits show.

Milciades Cadena, who owns the property at 2826-30 W. Armitage Ave., was issued a permit earlier this week to erect signs for "The Mozart," according to Chicago Cityscape, a website that tracks online permits.

The new establishment will also have a sidewalk cafe, according to a second city permit affixed to the window. Fences have already been installed.

Details are scarce on the new establishment, as Cadena didn't return messages seeking more information.

SFR, which stood for Spanish Flair Restaurant, served an array of Latin fusion dishes for a couple years before morphing into a full-time bar.

The Mozart will join a restaurant-heavy stretch of Armitage, home to Dos Urban Cantina, Osteria Langhe and Ugo's Kitchen & Bar.
