Four Dead, 20 Wounded in Shootings Since Saturday Morning: Police

CHICAGO — Four people are dead and another 20 are hurt from shootings since Saturday morning, police said.

An 18-year-old man was gunned down in South Chicago Sunday morning, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

Two men were killed and a woman was hurt in a shooting in Humboldt Park early Sunday morning, Estrada said.

A 40-year-old man was shot in his arm in Wicker Park Sunday morning, Estrada said.

Two 21-year-old men were shot, one fatally, in Greater Grand Crossing Saturday night, Estrada said.

A man was shot in his shoulder while walking in Ukrainian Village Saturday morning, Estrada said.

A bullet grazed a woman's back in a West Town shooting early Saturday morning, Estrada said.

• Most recently, a 27-year-old man was shot multiple times in Little Village, Estrada said.

The man was walking out of his house on the 2600 block of West 23rd Street when a blue minivan pulled up and someone inside shouted a gang slogan before firing shots.

The 27-year-old walked to Mount Sinai, where he's now in stable condition, after being shot in the stomach and the side.

• About a half hour earlier, a 39-year-old man was shot multiple times in Back of the Yards, police said.

The man was sitting in a parked car on the 1600 block of West 53rd Street when he heard gunshots and felt pain, Estrada said.

The man drove himself to Saint Bernard Hospital after being shot in his back and his abdomen, Estrada said. He was transferred to Stroger Hospital, where he's now in stable condition.

• At about 2 a.m., two women were shot in their legs in South Shore, police said.

They were standing on the sidewalk on the 1700 block of East 69th Street when a man got out of a silver SUV and fired shots at them, Estrada said.

One woman, 22, was shot in her left thigh, and the other, 35, was shot in both her legs, Estrada said. Both were brought to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where they're now in stable condition.

• Around 12:35 a.m., a 40-year-old man was shot in his left ankle in Washington Park, police said.

The man was standing on the sidewalk on the 6100 block of South King Drive when he heard shots and felt pain, Estrada said.

He was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, Estrada said, where he's now in stable condition. 

• About 20 minutes earlier, a 16-year-old boy was shot in his left hand in Greater Grand Crossing. The boy was standing on the sidewalk on the 7500 block of South Rhodes Avenue when he heard gunshots and felt pain, Estrada said.

The boy was brought to Saint Bernard Hospital, where he's now in good condition, Estrada said.

• Around 11:45 p.m. Saturday night, a 20-year-old man was shot while standing in a vacant lot in West Englewood, police said.

The man was standing on the 6800 block of South Paulina Street in West Englewood when he heard gunshots and felt pain, Estrada said. 

He was brought to Holy Cross Hospital, where he's now in stable condition, with a gunshot wound in his right foot, Estrada said.

• About 10 minutes earlier, two men and a woman were hurt in a shooting in South Shore, police said.

A 26-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were sitting in a white SUV on the 7900 block of South Exchange Avenue when a man shot at them from the sidewalk, Estrada said. 

While trying to flee in their car, the victims crashed their car into a CTA bus shelter, where they injured another man of an unknown age, Estrada said.

The gunshot victims were both brought to Stroger Hospital, where they're now in stable condition, Estrada said. The man had been shot in the abdomen, and the woman had been shot in the abdomen and right arm.

• Around 10:15 p.m., a 53-year-old man was shot inside his home in Greater Grand Crossing, police said.

The man was inside his apartment at 7900 South Ingleside Avenue when another man shot him in the left arm, Estrada said.

The man was brought to Christ Memorial Hospital, where he's now in stable condition, Estrada said. 

Police believe the shooting was the result of a domestic dispute.

• At about 7:30 p.m., two 21-year-old men were shot in East Garfield Park, police said.

Both were brought to Stroger Hospital, where they're now in stable condition, Estrada said. One of the men had been shot in his left shoulder, and the other was shot in his leg.

• Around 5 p.m., a woman was shot in Auburn Gresham, police said.

The woman was standing on the 7800 block of South Seeley Avenue when someone shot her in her shoulder, Estrada said.

She was brought to Little Company of Mary Hospital, where she's now in stable condition, Estrada said.

• At about 10:13 a.m. Saturday morning, a 23-year-old man was shot in his left leg in Back of the Yards, police said. The man was standing on the 4500 block of South Paulina Street when a car rolled up and someone inside fired shots, Estrada said.

An acquaintence took the man to St. Mary's Hospital and was later tranferred to Stroger Hospital, Estrada said, where he's now in stable condition.

Police said the man is a documented gang member, and they believe the shooting may have been gang-related.

• At about 5:15 a.m. Saturday morning, a 24-year-old man was shot in both his arms in Woodlawn, police said.

The man was sitting on his front porch on the 6400 block of South when he heard gunshots and felt pain, Estrada said.

He was brought to St. Bernard Hospital, where he's now in good condition, Estrada said.

No one is in custody for any of the shootings, Estrada said.
