Three Killed, 14 Wounded in Weekend Violence

CHICAGO — A man shot early Monday in South Chicago is among 14 people wounded and three killed in shootings this weekend.

Around 12:35 a.m., a 41-year-old man walked into Northwestern Memorial Hospital after being shot in the 2900 block of East 83rd Street, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was listed in stable condition after being shot in his arm. He was not cooperative with officers and further details were not available, Pacheco said.

Sunday evening, a 15-year-old boy was shot in Washington Park. Several hours earlier, a man was shot in Altgeld Gardens. From Saturday to Sunday morning, two people were wounded in separate shootings on the West Side.

Saturday, two women were shot in West Englewood and two 15-year-olds were wounded on the Southwest Side.

From Friday night to Saturday morning, five people were wounded in shootings across the city and a man fatally shot in the face in Hyde Park was among three homicides overnight.

Around 2:50 a.m. Saturday, two men were shot, one fatally on the Far South Side.

Around 11:30 p.m. Friday, a 24-year-old man was fatally shot in his car in South Austin.
