CHICAGO — A man was shot dead in Englewood and five people were injured in shootings across the city overnight, bringing the weekend totals to at least 29 people shot and four dead.

Around 12:45 a.m. in Englewood, a man believed to be in his 50s was fatally shot, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a police spokesman.

About 45 minutes earlier, two 16-year-old boys were shot while standing on the sidewalk in the 2400 block of West 63rd Street in West Englewood. Both teens were struck in the right leg and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in stable condition, Alfaro said.

At 9:15 p.m., a 26-year-old man was shot in the 2600 block of South Kedvale Avenue in Little Village, Alfaro said.

Around 7:25 p.m. Sunday, two people were shot in the 1500 block of South Christiana Avenue in North Lawndale. A 16-year-old girl was shot in her shoulder and an 18-year-old man was shot in his knee. Both were taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in stable condition, Alfaro said.

Sunday, three people were wounded in shootings across the city.

Saturday shootings in Rogers Park, Chicago Lawn and South Austin each left a man dead. Three other people were injured in the South Austin drive-by.

From Friday night into Saturday, 21 people were injured in shootings across the city including two wounded in separate shootings in Humboldt Park.
