CHICAGO — Two people were shot in Humboldt Park Friday night just blocks from each other in unrelated incidents, police said.

Around 11:45 p.m., a 31-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk in the 2500 block of West Division Street when a car came out of an alley and shots were fired, striking the man in his upper right thigh, said Officer Amina Greer, a police spokeswoman.

The man was transported to Stroger Hospital where he is in stable condition, Greer said.

No one is in custody for the shooting.

About the same time, a 38-year-old man was shot in both of his legs in the 2800 block of West Evergreen Avenue. He was standing in a front yard when he "heard shots and felt pain," Greer said.

He is in stable condition after being taken to Stroger Hospital, police said.

Greer said there is no indication that the shootings are related.
