West Humboldt Park Shooting Victim Dies One Day Later

CHICAGO — A 16-year-old boy died Wednesday, a day after he was shot in West Humboldt Park.

Lafayette Walton, of the 2400 block of West Grenshaw Avenue, was pronounced dead at Mt. Sinai Hospital at 6:52 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Around 5:18 p.m. Tuesday, the teen was shot in the head while standing in the 1200 block of North Keeler Avenue, police said.
