The tennis courts will be closed for reconstruction through mid-August.

Swimmers and lifeguards jumped into the water Thursday afternoon to resuscitate the lifeless teen.

The Shore Club will be nestled between the two paths of the newly divided Lakefront Trail.

The Park District closed the bridge last week for Lakefront Trail work, but it was open for the holiday.

The free tournament includes food and music and is meant to bring together veterans and their families.

It's kind of like summer camp, but hopefully less angst. 

The dog friendly area will cost roughly $250,000, with only half of that in the bank to date.

The neighboring Lincoln Park Cultural Center Advisory Council is sponsoring the celebration.

The unveiling party from 3-6 p.m. Saturday will gauge interest for new teams in Morgan Park.

The 1993 coming-of-age classic will show at Brooks Park, 7100 N. Harlem Ave., at dusk Thursday.

The park's riverbank is still closed to foot traffic, but a canoe tour will offer a unique glimpse.

Douglas Park is named for Stephen Douglas. But students argue Frederick Douglass deserves it more.

It's free to swim at 3721 W. 111th St. for all Chicago residents with a pool pass.

"The beaches are safe," said Chicago Police Deputy Supt. Kevin Navarro.    

"Everybody who walks through the park is going to see his butt," one neighbor said.
