CHICAGO — Heroes get remembered, but legendary films never die.
The Chicago Park District's Movies in the Parks series comes to Edison Park on Thursday with a free screening of the 1993 coming-of-age classic "The Sandlot."
Set in 1962, the film follows a new kid in a suburban neighborhood who falls in with a ragtag baseball crew, launching into a summer of adventures and mishaps.
Underwritten by the Edison Park Chamber of Commerce, the screening is set to begin at dusk. Sundown will occur at 8:29 p.m. Thursday.
Movies in the Park will return to Edison Park next Wednesday, with a screening of the 2016 animated musical "Sing" in Olympia Park, 6566 N Avondale Ave.
