CHICAGO — Shootings have killed 5 people and wounded 12 since Saturday, including a person fatally shot by a Chicago police officer, police said.

A 34-year-old man suspected to be involved in a shooting that left three people wounded was fatally shot by a Chicago police officer early Sunday in East Garfield Park, police said.

• At 5:30 a.m., a man was shot to death in Near West Side

• At 1:13 a.m., a 34-year-old man was shot to death in Lawndale.

• At 6:55 p.m. Saturday, a 26-year-old man was shot to death in South Austin.

• At 8:05 a.m. Saturday, a 27-year-old man was fatally shot and a 39-year-old man was wounded in a shooting in North Lawndale.

In non-fatal shootings:

• At 5:05 a.m. Sunday, a 25-year-old man was shot in Englewood, police said.

The man was standing on the sidewalk in the 7300 block of South Union Avenue when another man approached him and fired shots, police said.

The man was hit in the left leg and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in fair condition, police said.

• At 3:50 a.m., a 25-year-old man was shot in Humboldt Park, police said.

The man was standing on the sidewalk in the 1400 block of North Rockwell Street when a person inside a passing brown van opened fire in his direction, police said.

The man was hit in his left leg and taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

The shooting appeared to be gang-related, police said.

• At 8:48 p.m. Saturday, a 22-year-old man was shot in South Austin, police said.

The man was walking on the sidewalk in the 4900 block of West Hubbard Street when he heard shots and felt pain, police said.

The man was hit in his left arm and took himself to West Suburban Medical Center, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

The man was a documented gang member, police said.

• At 5:04 p.m., a 18-year-old man was shot in South Austin, police said.

The man was in the 400 block of South Central Avenue when a dark colored sedan pulled up to him and someone inside fired shots, police said.

The man was hit twice in the abdomen and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.

• At 5 p.m., a 23-year-old man was shot in West Garfield Park, police said.

The man was in his vehicle in the 200 block of North Kostner Avenue when he heard gunshots and later felt pain, police said.

He was hit in the ankle and taken to West Suburban Hospital in good condition, police said. 

• At 1:30 p.m., a 25-year-old man was shot in Austin, police said.

The man was in the 100 block of South Kilpatrick Avenue when a person approached him from the alley and fired shots, police said.

He was hit in the neck and took himself to Loretto Hospital, where he was later transferred to Loyola University Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

• At 11:44 a.m., a 16-year-old boy was shot in Englewood, police said.

The boy was walking in the 1900 block of West 70th Street when a person in a vehicle driving eastbound fired shots, police said.

The boy was hit in the upper torso and abdomen and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition, police said.

• At 9:45 a.m., a 18-year-old man was shot in Lawndale, police said.

The man was walking up to the rear porch of an apartment building in the 1500 block of South Hamlin Avenue when he heard shots and felt pain, police said.

He was hit in the right elbow and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, police said.

The man was a documented gang member, police said.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
