CHICAGO — Joseph Chess Jr., 26, was shot to death in South Austin on Saturday night, officials said.
At 6:55 p.m., the man was approached by a car in the 5500 block of West Rice Street and someone inside shot at him before driving away, police said. The man was hit multiple times and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital.
Chess, of suburban Bellwood, was later pronounced dead, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
No one was in custody.
