CHICAGO — Shootings left 16 people, including two young boys, wounded on Wednesday, police said.

• Most recently, at 11:11 p.m., a 25-year-old man was shot in South Austin, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The man was sitting in a parked car in the 5200 block of West Harrison Street when he heard gunshots.

The man was hit in the stomach and took himself to Loretto Hospital, where he was in serious condition, Pacheco said. He was later transferred to Stroger Hospital.

The man is a documented gang member, police said.

• At 9 p.m., a 30-year-old man was shot in Chatham, Pacheco said. The man was in the 8800 block of South Yale when he was shot in the right leg. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," Pacheco said.

The man was providing conflicting accounts of the shooting to officers, police said, and is a documented gang member.

• At 7:30 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot in North Lawndale, Pacheco said. The man was walking in the 4000 block of West 21st Place when he he heard shots and felt pain.

The man was hit in the right leg and he took himself to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was not released but he was listed as "stable," Pacheco said.

• At 6:50 p.m., two boys ages 4 and 6 were wounded after a shooting in North Lawndale.

• At 5:45 p.m., a 27-year-old man was shot in South Deering, Pacheco said. The man was in the 1600 block of East 130th Street when he get out of his car and he heard shots and felt pain.

The man was shot in the right knee. He took himself to Metro South Medical Center, where he was in good condition, Pacheco said.

• At 5:15 p.m., a 19-year-old man was talking to friends in Austin when someone got out of a car and shot him.

• At 4:05 p.m., two men were shot in their buttocks in Austin.

• At 3:30 p.m., a man walked into Mount Sinai Hospital after being shot in Near West Side.

• At 3:05 p.m., two 20-year-old men were shot and wounded in Englewood.

• At 11:58 a.m., a 24-year-old man was shot in Grand Crossing. 

• At 9:10 a.m., a 23-year-old man was shot in his left leg while in West Pullman.

• At 7:15 a.m., a 45-year-old man was found in Washington Heights after being shot during an attempted robbery, said Officer Greg Sloyan, a Chicago Police spokesman. A neighbor found the man in his car and called 911.

The man, who told police he'd been shot the night before during a robbery, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition, Sloyan said.

• Also at 7:15 a.m., a 24-year-old man was shot in North Lawndale, Sloyan said. The man was walking on the sidewalk in the 1300 block of South Christiana Avenue when he heard shots and felt pain.

The man was shot in the upper left leg and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was not released but he was listed as "stable," Sloyan said.

Also, a 15-year-old boy walked into Comer Children's Hospital after being shot in Park Manor on Tuesday night, police said.

No one was in custody in the shootings.
