CHICAGO — Three people have been killed and nine wounded in shootings since Wednesday, police said.

• At 9:55 p.m. Wednesday, one man was killed and another wounded when they were shot while driving in West Lawn.

• At 9:16 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot dead in Oakland.

• At 2:12 p.m., a 33-year-old man was shot to death while working on a car outside in Marquette Park.

In nonfatal shootings:

• Most recently, at 4:20 a.m. Thursday, a 47-year-old man was shot and critically wounded in the Lathrop Homes.

• At 9:44 p.m. Wednesday, a 22-year-old man was shot near Buckingham Fountain after he got into an argument with a group of men.

• At 9:08 p.m., a 37-year-old man was shot in Austin, police said. The man was on his rear porch in the 4900 block of West Superior Street when two men fired shots at him from the alley.

The man was hit in the abdomen and was taken to Stroger Hospital. His condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• At 7:55 p.m., a 40-year-old man was shot in Englewood while sitting outside his home.

• At 7:45 p.m., two 14-year-old boys were shot in Austin, said Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The boys were outside in the 1000 block of North Menard Avenue when shots were fired, possibly from someone in a car.

One of the boys was hit in the shoulder and back and was taken to Loyola Hospital. The other boy was hit in his leg and was taken to Stroger Hospital. Their conditions were not available but they were listed as "stable," Lemmon said.

• At 2:40 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot in Marquette Park, police said. The man was in the 6500 block of South Whipple Street when he heard shots and felt pain.

The man was hit in the lower left arm and was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition, Lemmon said.

The shooter, who had been on foot during the incident, got into a dark-colored Chevy Suburban and drove off, Lemmon said.

The victim was a documented gang member, police said.

• At 1 p.m., a 23-year-old man was shot in Roseland, police said. The man was in the 9500 block of South Calumet Avenue when a group became involved in an altercation and someone fired shots.

The man was hit in the back and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," Lemmon said.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
