Marquette Park Shooting Kills Brian Winters, Who Was Working On Car: Police

CHICAGO — A shooting in Marquette Park left a 33-year-old man dead on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

At 2:12 p.m., the man was outside in the 7300 block of South Rockwell Street, working on a car, when someone walked up to him and fired shots, said Officer Michelle Tannehill, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was hit in his head and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, Tannehill said.

He has been identified as Brian B. Winters, who lived in the same block where he was killed, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

No one was in custody.
