CHICAGO — One person was killed and five people were wounded in shootings since Sunday, police said.

A 23-year-old man was found outside with a gunshot wound in his back in Austin. He was later pronounced dead.

In all, three people were killed and 27 were injured in weekend shootings.

• About 5 a.m., a 56-year-old man walked into West Suburban Hospital after being shot in Austin, said Officer Mark Moore, Chicago Police spokesman. The man was in the 200 block of North Central Avenue when he was shot in his right knee. He was in good condition at the hospital.

No further information was immediately available.

• At 11:36 p.m. Sunday, a 17-year-old was shot in Washington Heights, Moore said. The teenager was a passenger in a car in the 9600 block of South Throop Street when someone fired at the car, hitting the teen in his elbow.

The driver of the car took the teenager to Little Company of Mary Hospital, where he was in good condition, Moore said.

• At 10:45 p.m., a 26-year-old took himself to Loyola Hospital after being shot in Austin, Moore said. The man was walking in the 1100 block of North Monitor Avenue when he heard shots and felt pain.

The man was in "stable" condition at Loyola, Moore said, with a gunshot wound in his thigh.

The man is a documented gang member, police said.

• At 4:40 p.m., a 17-year-old was shot in a possible drive-by in Douglas, Moore said. The teen was about to get out of a parked car in the 2700 block of South Dearborn Street when he heard shots and felt pain.

The teenager was taken by a friend to Mercy Hospital and then was transferred to Stroger Hospital, where he was in stable condition, Moore said.

The teenager is a documented gang member, police said.

• At 3:01 p.m., a 35-year-old man walked into Holy Cross Hospital with two gunshot wounds in his right arm, Moore said. The man had been in the 5000 block of South Archer Avenue in Archer Heights when he was shot. He was in "stable" condition, Moore said.

The man, who police said would not cooperate with officers, is allegedly a documented gang member.

No one is in custody in these shootings.

Fourteen people were wounded in shootings Friday and two people were killed and eight injured Saturday.
