24-Year-Old Killed In Austin Identified: Authorities

CHICAGO — A 24-year-old man has died after being found with a gunshot wound in Austin, police said.

At 3:54 p.m. Sunday, the man was found in the 5400 block of West Hirsch Street, said Officer Mark Moore, Chicago Police spokesman. The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition with a gunshot wound in his back.

The man was later pronounced dead, Moore said.

He has been identified as Randy Kimball, of the 2700 block of West 15th Place in North Lawndale, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Police initially said Kimball was 23 years old.

No one is in custody. No further information about the shooting was immediately available.
