ALBANY PARK — Chicago Public Schools' latest school quality ratings are out and a number of neighborhood schools have reached the district's highest level.
The system assigns schools one of five ratings —from the lowest of Level 3 (requiring intensive support) to the highest of Level 1+ (in good standing) — based on a variety of achievement and growth measurements, including attendance, test scores and whether a school is considered "well organized."
In addition to the schools that retained their Level 1+ rating, several jumped to the highest level in 2016: Albany Park Multicultural Academy, Bateman, Disney II Magnet, Hibbard, Palmer and Peterson.
Thanks to the extraordinary work of an amazing team of educators and families, Peterson Elementary is now a PROUD 1+ school!! #PetersonProud pic.twitter.com/UatDySsEQP
