CHICAGO — Two people were wounded in separate shootings Sunday afternoon, bringing the total of weekend gunfire victims to 30, in addition to three dead.

In the most recent incident, a 36-year-old man was shot in the back in the 11100 block of South Vernon Avenue, police said. He was taken in serious condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. Police had no more information on the shooting, and no one is in custody.

Earlier a man was injured by an apparent drive-by shooting in Lawndale Sunday afternoon.

The man told police he was outside in the 2700 block of West Flournoy Street about 1:15 p.m. when a grey car drove past and someone inside fired shots. The man, 18, was struck in the foot, police said.

He was being treated at the scene, and police had no more information about the incident. No one is in custody.

Nine people were shot overnight Saturday, in addition to five during daylight hours Saturday. Fourteen people were shot between Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.

The three victims of fatal shootings include 15-year-old Demario Bailey, killed during an Englewood robbery Saturday, and Rolando Leon, who was fatally shot while in car with a child in Humboldt Park Friday night.
