Five Wounded in Daytime Shootings Saturday

CHICAGO — At least four people were injured by gunfire Saturday afternoon, police said.

In the most recent shooting, a man was shot in West Humboldt Park about 3 p.m., police said. He was in the 900 block of North Karlov Avenue when he heard shots and felt pain, police said. After initially being being uncooperative, he told police a man he'd argued with shot him.

The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition with wounds to his left hand and right leg.

A 34-year-old woman was injured in the 400 block of South Kostner Avenue about 2:20 p.m., police said. She was shot in the leg, and was in good condition after being treated on the scene.

At about 1:50 p.m., in the 7900 block of South Vernon Avenue, male whose age was unknown was shot in the leg and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition, police said.

In South Chicago at 1:45 p.m., a man shot during an attempted robbery in the 7900 block of South Mainstee Avenue, Sedevic said.

The 29-year-old man was working on his car when an unknown man attempted to rob him. The man opened fire, striking thev ictim in his leg. He was taken to Northwestern Hospital and listed in good condition, Sedevic said.

No one is in custody, and Area South detectives investigating.

At about 1:10 p.m., the 2900 block of West Jackson Boulevard, an 18-year-old man was shot in the leg, police said. He took himself to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was in good condition. Police said the shooting may be gang related.

No one is in custody for any of the shootings.

Earlier Saturday afternoon, a 15-year-old boy was shot dead in Englewood during a robbery attempt, police said.
