CHICAGO — Three people were killed and seven people were injured in shootings across the city overnight.

A 25-year-old man was fatally shot around 7:40 p.m. in South Chicago. Around 5:35 p.m., a 34-year-old man was also fatally shot in East Chatham. About an hour earlier, a 22-year-old man was fatally shot in East Garfield Park.

Also Monday night, several people were wounded in shootings on the Near West Side and in Little Village, Gresham, Uptown and Albany Park.

In other violence citywide, a 16-year-old boy was shot in West Pullman about 8:40 p.m., said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The boy was with friends in the 100 block of East 120th Street when two men approached from a gangway and started firing shots, hitting the boy in his right leg. He was taken to Roseland Hospital in stable condition, Pacheco said.

Around 8 p.m., a 14-year-old boy was shot in his lower back while in the 8500 block of South Exchange Avenue in South Chicago. The boy was standing on a corner when shots were fired from a light-colored vehicle, Pacheco said.

The boy was taken to Comer Children's Hospital in stable condition. No one is in custody for the shooting, which appears to be gang-related, Pacheco said.
