CHICAGO — A 25-year-old man was fatally wounded in South Chicago Monday night.

Around 7:40 p.m., the man was standing on a sidewalk with a group of friends in the 8300 block of South Kingston Avenue when someone got out of a dark vehicle and began firing shots, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The 25-year-old man was taken to Advocate Christ Hospital after being shot in his neck and chest. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital, Pacheco said.

No one is in custody for the shooting, which was gang related, police said.
