Chicago Shootings Kill 1, Wound 7, Since Friday Morning

CHICAGO — A woman is dead and seven men were wounded in shootings in Chicago since Friday morning.

A 53-year-old woman was found shot dead in South Chicago after a possible "domestic" incident. Police initially classified the incident as a death investigation.

In non-fatal shootings:

• A 43-year-old man was shot while driving a van in Irving Park early Saturday morning.

• In Austin, a 23-year-old man was shot in his leg while in the 800 block of North Central Avenue at 2:16 a.m. Saturday.

He took himself to West Suburban Hospital and police say he was being uncooperative.

• In Washington Park, an "argument at a gang party" led to a 20-year-old man getting graze wound to his head.

The incident occurred in the 5800 block of South Indiana Avenue at 12:43 a.m.

The man was able to take himself to University of Chicago Hospitals. 

• In Bronzeville, a 22-year-old man was outside when he was shot in his leg and buttock from a passing SUV.

The incident occurred in the 200 block of West 40th Place at 11:43 p.m. Friday.

The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition.

• In Auburn Gresham, a 23-year-old was shot in his left arm. He was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital in good condition after the incident in the 8300 block of South Ashland Avenue at 4:05 p.m.

• In Back of the Yards, a 28-year-old man was shot twice in his thigh while in the 1100 block of West 51st Street at 9:54 a.m.

He was standing outside when a person with a gun got out of a vehicle and shot multiple times. The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital.

• Next to Douglas Park in North Lawndale, a 30-year-old man is in critical condition at Mount Sinai after being shot twice in his left side Friday morning. 

A gunman got out of his car in the 3100 block of West 13th Street at 9:15 a.m. and shot at the victim, who was sitting in his vehicle. The gunman fled the scene in an unknown direction.

• A 19-year-old man was shot Friday morning near a University Village CVS.
