11 Killed, 49 Wounded In Shootings Since Friday, Police Say

CHICAGO — Shootings throughout Chicago have left 11 dead and at least 49 others wounded since Friday, according to police.

Among the dead is a 25-year-old Indiana man fatally shot by police after a scuffle in Mount Greenwood Saturday. It was the Far Southwest Side neighborhood's first shooting since at least 2000, according to shootings data compiled by DNAinfo.

On Sunday, one man was killed and 10 others wounded. The man was shot to death in Austin Sunday evening.

On Saturday, five were killed and 15 others were wounded in shootings, police said.

On Friday, five were killed and 24 were wounded, according to police.

In non-fatal Sunday shootings:

• At 11 p.m., a 20-year-old woman was shot in Greater Grand Crossing, police said.

The woman was a passenger in a car in the 200 block of West 76th Street when a dark-colored car drove up and began firing, police said. She was grazed in her head and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where she was treated and released, police said.

A man driving the car was not hurt in the shooting, police said.

• At 10:45 p.m., a 30-year-old man was shot in Roseland, police said.

He was on the sidewalk in the first block of West 95th Street when two people approached and at least one began firing, police said. He was struck in his right arm and grazed in his head and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition was not released but police considered them to be stable.

• At 8:25 p.m., a 19-year-old man was shot in South Chicago, police said.

The man was in the street in the 8000 block of South Escanaba Avenue when shots rang out, police said. He was struck in his left ankle and thigh and was taken to Trinity Hospital, where his condition was not released but police considered them to be stable.

• At 7:55 p.m., a 34-year-old woman was shot in Auburn Gresham, police said.

The woman was in the 8800 block of South Wood Street when she was shot in her thigh and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where her condition was not released but police considered her to be stable.

• At 7:20 p.m., a 33-year-old woman was shot in Heart of Chicago, police said.

• At 7:10 p.m., a 78-year-old man was shot in the head in West Englewood, police said.

• At 2:15 p.m., two men were shot in Roseland, police said.

The men were in the 11100 block of South Michigan Avenue when shots rang out, police said. A 20-year-old man was struck in the left leg and a 28-year-old man was struck in his left hip, police said. Both were brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center in good condition.

•At 12:35 p.m., a 28-year-old man was shot in South Shore, police said.

The man was in a parked car in the 2600 block of East 76th Street when two people walked up and began firing, police said. He was shot multiple times in his body and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition, police said.

• The day's first shooting was at 9:20 a.m. in Austin, according to police.

A 29-year-old man was driving northbound in the 100 block of North Cicero Avenue when shots rang out, police said. He was struck in his abdomen and right leg and got himself to Loretto Hospital before being transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, police said.
