Shootings Kill 3 People, Wound 20 Since Friday, Police Say

CHICAGO — Three people have killed and 20 wounded in shootings since Friday, police said.

• At 6:15 p.m. Friday, a 55-year-old man was shot dead outside the Ezra Center in Uptown.

• At 6:12 p.m., Ramon Tolbert, 35, was shot to death while standing outside in Austin.

• At 3:30 p.m., 32-year-old Nykea Aldridge was shot dead while pushing a stroller in Woodlawn. Aldridge was basketball player's Dwyane Wade's cousin.

In non-fatal shootings:

• Most recently, at 3:35 a.m. Saturday, two men were shot in West Pullman, police said. The men were driving in an alley in the 500 block of West 127th Street when a man in a truck fired shots.

A 21-year-old man was hit in his shoulder and was in critical condition. A 24-year-old man was hit in his leg and was listed as "stable," police said. They were at Advocate Christ Medical Center.

The shooter was man with dreadlocks and he was in a blue truck, police said.

• At 3:07 a.m., two men and a teen boy were shot in Austin, police said. The three were sitting in a car, eating, in the 5400 block of West Ferdinand Street when someone walked up to them and fired shots.

One of the men, 22, was hit in his left knee and the other man, also 22, was hit in his feet, police said. The boy, 15, was shot in his right arm and had his left arm grazed by a bullet.

They were taken Mount Sinai Hospital in police listed their condition as "good."

The victims were affiliated with gangs, police said.

• At 2:20 a.m., a 22-year-old man was shot near Navy Pier during an attempted robbery.

• At 1:56 a.m., a 22-year-old man was shot in Englewood.

• At 1:18 a.m., two men were shot in Marquette Park, police said. The men were standing on a porch in the 6300 block of South Rockwell Street when several people fired shots at them. One of the men, 25, was licensed to carry a concealed handgun and shot back.

The 25-year-old man was hit in his back and was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said. The other man on the porch, 31, was hit in his leg and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center and police listed his condition as "good."

• At 12:34 a.m., a 44-year-old man was shot in Englewood.

• At 11:24 p.m. Friday, a 22-year-old man was shot in North Lawndale, police said. The man was in the 1200 block of South Lawndale Avenue when he was shot four times in the lower part of his chest and twice in his back.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.

The man was a documented gang member, police said.

No further information was immediately available.

• At 11:17 p.m., two 24-year-old men were shot in Auburn Gresham.

• At 10:02 p.m., an 18-year-old man was shot in Brighton Park.

• At 10 p.m., a 32-year-old woman was shot in West Ridge when a man who was playing with a gun fired it.

• At 9:34 p.m., a 39-year-old man was shot in Auburn Gresham.

• At 4:34 p.m., a man and woman were shot in West Pullman, said Officer Ron Gaines, a Chicago Police spokesman. The two were in a car in the 12200 block of South Wallace when someone fired shots at them.

The man, 35, was hit in his forehead and the woman, 37, was wounded by broken glass, Gaines said. They took themselves to Metro South Hospital and the man was transferred to Stroger Hospital. His condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," Gaines said, and the woman was treated and released.

• At 1:47 p.m., a 23-year-old man was shot after getting into an argument in Hyde Park.

• At 12:40 p.m., a 25-year-old man was shot in Grand Crossing, said Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The man was a passenger in a car in the 1200 block of East 75th Street when a man walked up and fired shots.

The 25-year-old man was hit. He took himself to University of Chicago Medical Center and was transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, Lemmon said.

No further information was immediately available.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
