South Side Shootings Leave 5 Wounded Since Friday, Police Say

CHICAGO — Five people have been wounded in shootings in Englewood and Auburn Gresham since Friday night, police said.

• At 1:56 a.m. Saturday, a 22-year-old man was shot in Englewood, police said. The man was in the 6900 block of South Halsted Street when he was shot in his arm and leg.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition, police said.

No further information was immediately available.

• At 12:34 a.m., a 44-year-old man was shot in Englewood, police said. The man was on the 6400 block of South Carpenter Street when he was hit in his arm.

The man was taken to St. Bernard Hospital in good condition, police said.

No further information was immediately available.

• At 11:17 p.m. Friday, two 24-year-old men were shot in Auburn Gresham, police said. The men were sitting in a car in the 900 block of West 77th Street when someone walked up to them and fired shots.

One of the men was hit in his chest and arm and the other man was hit in his abdomen. They were taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.

• At 9:34 p.m., a 39-year-old man was shot in Auburn Gresham, police said. The man was in the 7700 block of South Hermitage Avenue when he was hit in his arm.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

The man was "very uncooperative," police said, and no further information was immediately available.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
