3 Killed, 11 Wounded in Citywide Shootings Since Monday, Police Say

CHICAGO — Shootings in all parts of the city left three men dead and another 11 people wounded between Monday morning and Tuesday morning, police said.

• At 8:35 p.m. Monday, 37-year-old man died on Interstate 57 after being shot in Morgan Park.

• At 10:50 p.m., a 28-year-old man was found shot to death in Irving Park.

• Twenty minutes later, a shooting in Noble Square left a 26-year-old man dead and two other men wounded.

• Around 2 p.m. Monday, a 51-year-old man was shot and wounded in Englewood.

• At 7:20 p.m., a 16-year-old girl was shot while riding a bicycle in North Lawndale.

• Just before 1 a.m. Tuesday morning, police found a man shot multiple times outside the Lathrop Homes.

• Around 2:35 a.m., a man was shot and seriously wounded on the Near West Side.

• Most recently, around 3:25 a.m. Tuesday, a 19-year-old man was walking with a group in the 6200 block of South Komensky Avenue in West Lawn when he heard gunshots and felt pain, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center with a gunshot wound in his knee, Estrada said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

• Just after 1 a.m., Estrada said, an 18-year-old man was sitting in the back seat of a car in the 4500 block of South Wolcott Avenue in Back of the Yards when he heard gunshots and felt pain.

The man was brought to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said, where he was listed in serious condition with a gunshot wound in his right shoulder.

• Around 12:40 a.m., a 23-year-old man was walking in the 2000 block of East 71st Street in South Shore when someone shot at him out of a red SUV, Estrada said.

The man was brought to Jackson Park Hospital, Estrada said, where he was "stable" with a gunshot wound in his right foot.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

• About 5:15 p.m. Monday afternoon, a 24-year-old man was shot in the 12400 block of South Emerald Avenue in West Pullman, police said.

Police could not immediately provide any other information on the shooting, other than to say the man is a documented gang member.

• Around 5:45 a.m. Monday morning, a 19-year-old man walked into Holy Cross Hospital after being shot in the 4800 block of South Throop Street in Back of the Yards, police said.

The man was transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said, where he was listed in good condition with a graze wound in his back.

Police said the man is a documented gang member and was not cooperating with authorities.
