NEAR WEST SIDE — A 35-year-old man was in serious condition after being shot in his chest on the Near West Side early Tuesday morning, police said.

Around 2:35 a.m., the man was standing in the 2100 block of West Adams Street when someone walked up and shot at him, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was brought to Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound in his chest, police said.

No one is in custody, Estrada said.
