CHICAGO — Four people were killed — including three during the course of a single hour — and another eight were wounded between Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning, police said.

Two men were shot dead and another two were wounded, one critically, during a four-hour span in Englewood Tuesday night, police said.

A 23-year-old man was found shot to death in South Shore late Tuesday night, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

About 25 minutes earlier, Estrada said, a 25-year-old man died after being shot in his head and crashing his SUV into a garage in Marquette Park.

A 14-year-old boy was shot in both his legs in a drive-by shooting in Auburn Gresham, Estrada said.

• Most recently, around 12:50 a.m. Wednesday morning, two teenage boys were playing with a gun in the 9200 block of South Throop Avenue in Washington Heights when it went off and shot one of them in his left knee, Estrada said.

The boy, 14, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, Estrada said, where his condition stabilized.

The other boy, 15, was taken into custody, and weapons charges are pending against him, Estrada said.

• About 20 minutes earlier, Estrada said, a 21-year-old man was sitting in a car in the 1000 block of West 97th Street in Roseland when someone pulled up next to him in a white sedan and shot at him.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition stabilized after he was treated for gunshot wounds in both his legs, Estrada said.

• Around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night, a 20-year-old man was walking in the 4200 block of West Madison Street in West Garfield Park when he heard gunshots and felt pain in his right leg, Estrada said.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, Estrada said, where his condition stabilized.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

• About an hour earlier and three blocks away, a 21-year-old man was walking in the 4300 block of West Jackson Boulevard when he heard gunshots and realized he'd been shot in his leg, Estrada said.

The man walked into Stroger Hospital, Estrada said, where his condition stabilized after he was treated.

• At 9:25 p.m., Estrada said, a 28-year-old man was walking in the 6700 block of East End Avenue in South Shore when someone jumped out of a nearby silver SUV and shot at him before fleeing.

The man was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center and transferred to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition with gunshot wounds in his groin, left arm and back, Estrada said.

• Around 7 p.m., a 31-year-old man was standing in the 3500 block of East 96th Street in East Side when a nearby group of men shot at him, Estrada said.

The man was taken to Trinity Hospital, Estrada said, where his condition stabilized after he was treated for a gunshot wound in his left leg.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.
