ENGLEWOOD — Two men were killed and another two were wounded, one critically, over a four-hour period in Englewood Tuesday night, police said.

First, around 7:30 p.m., a 23-year-old man was standing inside a business in the 1200 block of West 69th Street when a man walked in and shot at him, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, Estrada said. He was later pronounced dead.

The man was identified as Charis Vernell Eaton, of the 7600 block of South Loomis, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. Eaton was pronounced dead at 8:22 p.m. of multiple gunshot wounds.

Police said the man was a documented gang member.

Later, around 11:30 p.m., Estrada said, a 31-year-old man was shot to death about three blocks away, in the 7000 block of South Morgan Avenue.

The man was standing in the street when a group of men walked up and began shooting at him, Estrada said.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital, Estrada said, where he was pronounced dead from gunshot wounds in his head, right arm and neck.

The man was identified as Kenneth Renaldo Brown, of the 6900 block of South Paulina, according to the morgue. Brown was pronounced dead at 12:21 a.m. March 16 of multiple gunshot wounds.

Between those two shootings, around 9:40 p.m., two men were walking in the 6100 block of South Laflin Avenue when they heard gunshots and felt pain, Estrada said.

One man, 34, was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition with a gunshot wound in his abdomen, Estrada said.

The other man, 27, was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, Estrada said, where his condition stabilized after he was treated for a gunshot wound in his left arm.

Police said both men are documented gang members.

No one is in custody for any of the shootings, police said.
