1 Person Killed, 9 Wounded in Citywide Shootings Since Saturday, Police Say

CHICAGO — One man has been killed and nine people have been wounded in shootings since Saturday, police said.

A Roseland shooting left two men injured on Saturday night, police said. One of the men died Sunday afternoon.

• Most recently, at 12:35 a.m. Sunday, a 20-year-old woman was shot near Navy Pier in Streeterville, said Officer Jose Estrada, Chicago Police spokesman.

• At 9:30 p.m., a 50-year-old man was shot in Chicago Lawn, Estrada said. Police were responding to a call of a man shot when they found the victim lying on the sidewalk in the 6900 block of South Washtenaw Avenue.

The man was shot in his neck, right thigh and right foot and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was in serious condition, Estrada said.

The victim is a documented gang member, police said, and the incident might be gang-related.

• At 6:05 p.m., a 23-year-old woman was shot in Rogers Park, Estrada said.

• At 5:30 p.m., a 24-year-old man was shot in Morgan Park, Estrada said.

• At 3:22 p.m., a 17-year-old was shot in Garfield Park, Estrada said. The teen was sitting in a parked car in the 3100 block of West Madison Street when two cars drove up and people inside both cars shot at the teenager.

The teen was hit in his leg and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was in good condition, Estrada said.

• At 2:05 p.m., a 28-year-old man walked into St. Bernard Hospital after he said he was shot in Englewood, Estrada said. The victim said he had been walking in the 1400 block of West 72nd Street when he heard shots and felt pain.

The man was shot in his left arm and was in good condition, Estrada said.

The victim is a documented gang member, police said, and the incident might be gang-related.

• At 1:30 p.m., a 39-year-old man was shot in Austin, Estrada said. The man was walking in the 5500 block of West Harrison Street when he heard "numerous" shots and felt pain. He ran into a local business and called police.

The man was shot in his left foot and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was in good condition, Estrada said.

• At 1:30 p.m., a 17-year-old was shot in Grand Crossing, Estrada said. The teen was standing outside in the 7600 block of South South Chicago Avenue when someone got out of a green, four-door car and shot in the teen's direction.

The teenager was hit in his back, shoulder and buttocks and was taken to Northwestern Hospital, where he was in "stable" condition, Estrada said. Police could not say the severity of his injuries.

No one is in custody in these shootings.
