Shooting Near Navy Pier Leaves 20-Year-Old Woman Wounded, Police Say

CHICAGO — A woman was wounded in a shooting near Navy Pier just after midnight Sunday, police said.

At 12:35 a.m., the woman was a passenger in a car in the 500 block of East Grand Avenue when another car pulled up and someone inside started shooting, said Officer Jose Estrada, Chicago Police spokesman.

The woman was hit in her left calf and was taken to Northwestern Hospital, where she was in "stable" condition, Estrada said. Police could not say the extent of her injuries.

No one is in custody in the shooting.
